Mingling, Mungling and Other Networking Activities

I am attending the NT conference in Portorož. I am not a MS guy, so this post might be a little biased. What made me come is nice little piece of software we (Marand and 3fs) provided to Lenovo in order to animate their stand.
So let’s go step by step:
1) Lectures - rate 1/10
The lectures here are boring Microsoft commercials. Really, I did not hear not even one new thing. They are not promoting any innovative MS Research stuff, such as Photosynth or Sea Dragon; they completely forgot about Live Mesh. It seams that all MS has to show are SQL servers and pseudo CRM systems. Even the guys from Gartner did not really reveal anything we couldn’t read already. With one word - disappointing!
2) Network and internet access - rate 3/10
How can someone organize an IT conference with such lousy web connection. It is crashing every 45~60 minutes. Just what you need if you have a network dependent demo :) At least it’s pretty fast.
3) Food and parties - rate 5/10
The parties are great. The food is not so great (update: except for the Osmica party). More about the parties (and girls) can be found at Had’s blog.
4) People and networking - rate 5/10
Hanged with Jure from Zemanta, Primož from Slo-tech, some guys from Mobitel and Had. Basically people I knew before. It is interesting how hard is to meet new people at Slovene conferences. It seams they are all there for the drinks and the girls; and are pretty focused on that :)
So all in all I give the conference a 3/10 and I think I will skip the next few ones.
