Polishing a Product

I think this might be one of the hardest tasks. You already see the finish line but you still need to take care of those dirty details and put an enormous effort to make it perfect (or as perfect as it gets).
A while ago, in the time of “the careless” internet when people used the term Web 2.0 broadly, a mantra spread about releasing things as early as possible and polish them later. This philosophy works in the web world for geeks and advanced users but it most certainly does not work in worlds where the average Joe lives. When you are working on products for the average user and you are not targeting technology savvy people with a tech product (let it be a service or device) the product must be polished in every detail to insure that users will accept it.
As stated above this might require a huge effort but might be critical for the success of the product. I think it is a good thing to invest this effort in order to have a bigger chance of success ;)
