Ok, Funky.Karaoke is celebrating its second birthday today – it all started on July, 27th, 2007 – on day after my 25th birthday.

It has been a great year with many amazing experiences and many well accepted posts. I have changed a bit the blogging style, moving away from short posts to a bit longer, (hopefully) more insightful ones. The short thoughts and Funky Web links are now mainly a Twitter thing.

So let’s recap this year quickly:

  • In August I blogged about the Olympic spirit and live streaming
  • September was a month full of nice posts, but the post about an augmented reality concept, using computer vision to hyperlink reality created in Slovenia stood out.
  • October – a personal rant. Flew to Russia (St. Petersburg) for the first time in my life. I Feel Psychology was finally launched.
  • I was in London with @Tadej for FOM in November and wrote an apparently controversial review
  • December was fantastic. Survived the Days of thunder and I spoke at WWWH about cross platform applications. Been in Vienna.
  • In January the decline of Funky.Karaoke started. I summed up some project management knowledge in a post about Agile. I have also been to Amsterdam.
  • February was amazing. Barcelona with @Tadej – in a hostel for 25€ per night, total bootstrapping but great parties where I meet some amazing people. I also wrote a post about how we are all Fu**d
  • First ever trip to the USA, straight to San Francisco for eCommConf – a fantastic conference orgainzed by Lee, with amazing speakers and great networking opportunities. Unfortunately I had to fly back the day after the conference ended, so I did not manage to explore SF and its surroundings further. On a side note I wrote a post about Money and Passion.
  • I was invited to speak at Vitel – a hard-core Telco conference in April. I had a talk about the combination of Telco & Web for a killer combo. I got only one question after the talk: “What is a killer application? We never heard anything like that.” I flew to St. Petersburg again.
  • May was another month packed with excitement. I spent a week in London. I launched Mobile Monday Slovenia with its first event – thanks again to @kiberpipa and @anjarenko for help and support. I did not write about it on my blog since I hate self promotion,  but I wrote a post about Polishing a product. I flew to St. Petersburg for the third time.
  • In June I wrote a very long post about the possibility of creating a push Twitter client, our new initiative at MarandLab (#FridayProject) and 1K Days On Twitter. Organized the second MoMoSlo event with speakers from Mobitel, Motiviti, LiveCliq and Mozilla.
  • July was not a really productive month on the blogging front but I was quite involved in activities related to web telephony and interactive digital signage. I discovered William Gibson thanks to @hyperhandsome and got totally hooked on his fascinating tales of the future.

All in all it was really a smashing year for me personally. I gained a lot of experience, worked on marvelously challenging stuff and meet a huge number of amazing people on the way. And apparently the fun has just begun, so stay tuned for more ;)
